Celebrating Theatre Education
Arts Education prepares youth for success in school, in work, and in life. Northlight's dynamic arts education programs reach 4000+ students annually in schools throughout the Chicagoland area.
Northlight has been a partner with Fairview Middle School for over a decade, and celebrated with our most recent project: the Northlight/Fairview co-production of Scared!
Over the past eight weeks, Northlight Teaching Artists worked with students in grades 5-7 on acting fundamentals and production elements including set decorations, hand painted masks, and props.
Northlight also brought in a professional makeup artist and fight choreographer to lead specialty tutorials in stage makeup and stage combat.
The project culminated in two performances for students and families. We are so grateful for the amazing staff and students at Fairview Middle School who make this partnership possible.
